  • One of the key responsibilities of the National Gambling Board (NGB), as mandated by the National Gambling Act (NGA), 7 of 2004, Section 65(2)(e), is to monitor market conduct and market share in the South African gambling industry. In doing so, the NGB gathers national gambling statistics.

Chief Operating Officer Gambling contributes to the growth and development of Tourism and the economy in the Gauteng Province. Gambling also stimulates the creation of job opportunities and contributes to the alleviation of poverty in the province. The Board collects gambling taxes and levies on gambling transactions on behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) and other beneficiaries. Measures to promote responsible gambling and minimise incidences of problem gambling. The GGB recognises that opportunities for gambling pose particular risks for the people of Gauteng.
